No joy with Faro today, at least not with Transavia and Dammam is the same time like my flight?

No time to use a lounge here.
The smallest of the large ones is parked at my gate E19
and that´s exactly what the schedule told me

PH-AOC "Place de la Concorde - Paris" is an A330-200.
Leg no. 4 on type only and new to the log.
With KL since 21.11.2005, there are 12 examples in the fleet.
Here are the stories:

An extra security check is managed at the gate, smooth, with not that much people around.
Really, I hope for another low load

 photo KWT1301023_zpsf6c95f06.jpg
And it is indeed a low load with no open seat in biz and the eco pax mostly seated upfront.
70% with lots of open seats around 43 H/J, the last row window and two for me.
A really nice welcome by name from a young large, yes, slim, yes, brown hair, yes, smiling, yes, young woman

2.35 pm, ontime once again, 5.05 hours by "KLM", departure
from the 3500 meters "Two-Four" at 8 degrees and rain.
So far with the "Amsterdam Luchthaven Schiphol".
Mixed blue red clean fabric seats, acceptable legroom and some IFE details

Cockpit crew is from the Netherlands, there is a female "Piloot" today with a really nice welcome on the ground, detailed and experienced and once again later during the early approach.
Routing is Münster-Leipzig-Brno-Brasov-Constanta-Trabzon-Mosul-Kirkuk-Bagdad at 39000 and later 41000 feet.
Flight tracking for me, what else?

The nice young woman even offered me a KLM card to use as a bookmark when she saw me reading the Kuwait book during the first snack service.
We talked about my upcoming stay in Kuwait, just for the night and she responds:
"Do you fly back with us again tomorrow night, that will be nice". Well, as far as I like to do it, no, there is another mission to go!

Service started soon thereafter this way, rice and vegetables!

It´s always amazing how quickly it gets dark out there,
read a page during daylight and the next one in the dark

A nice sunset this way

The only other passenger in the rear cabin at my side, a couple of rows infront is a woman, age 50 maybe.
Pushing the FA call button for several times and asking for a bottle of wine.
I overheard the FA´s talking what to do with here, while shes going more and more drunk so it looks like.
It seems she prepares herself as a human wine container especially when we know that we are heading for a dry country and the next step is an even more dry and restricted country at all.
With the plane´s final place tonight for Dammam, Saudi Arabia.
Well, you know, what happens. Not that far from Kuwait  she walks by the fast way and good for the others around, she made it to the restroom.
I overheard the FA´s talking again and they decided to declare the restroom inop with the huge mess inside.
And believe me, just a couple of minutes after she´s back at her seat she pressed the FA button again.
And what do you expect?.
More wine, unbelievable.
Till the purser comes to her seat, talked to her about the restroom mess, what is definitely not her fault, no way and there is no more wine to go for her, at least not on this plane. These people!.
The cabin short prior to arrivals into

The 3400 meters "Three-Three-Left" it is. 8.00 pm in Germany or 10.00 pm in Kuwait and this is short ahead to schedule, 23 degrees, clear sky, lovely!
The turkish cargo guys are also here
 photo KWT1301042_zps2cd80b0d.jpg
A couple of people around and the whole immigration thing is not that really well signed here to arrive the first time into Kuwait. Or maybe they are simply not that really prepared for a couple more visitors like me?.
Passport check is located at the ground floor.
VUA guests should go upstairs for the departures lounge where there are a couple of counters. At first you need to change for Kuwaiti Dinars, what is swiftly done with no one else infront at the money exchange counter.
Now you need some coins. Lucky me, there is a small desk where an airport employee changed notes to coins. With the coins you need to catch a revenue stamp from a machine. Back to the airport employee´s desk where you change the revenue stamp into a paper. For the next counter where some officials, smiling, the younger woman even talked to me in german "Willkommen", but talked also swiftly in english that this is her only german knowledge!.
She recorded my passport details and send me with a printout for the next counter closeby where the young guy also welcomed me in german and stamped my passport.
Now it´s down to the groundfloor to the real immigration
where there are no other people round. The officer saw me coming down the stairs and waved me through.
Welcome to Kuwait.
I was in contact, as usual, with the hotel, there is no transfer on offer, about the taxi fare.
They responed, it´s running on the meter, nothing to haggle at all. Out in the public, catching the next one and it works this way till the Marina Royal Suite Hotel in Hawally

Time enough for a swift view to the city.
A taxi for me, the egyptian guy doesn´t speak english but called a friend who translated it on the cellphone and soon thereafter we are on the way.
Maybe for the Souq area?

 photo KWT1301073_zpsc2786b28.jpg
Oh, so late, it seems I should immediatelly go now for the airport.
And as usual in such sitations, not that I´ve talked about it before, Friday morning, you know, no taxi to see, close to no car on the main road.
One drives past, another one, too, both occupied.
Lucky me, there is another one in the distance, I do my best to catch some attention, waving and jumping, you know, the driver stops, an elder indian guy.
"For the airport".
"Sure?".
"Yes, for the airport, sure"
It seems that´s not common here, people walking around especially without luggage heading for the airport.
Cheap and fast it was, lucky me!.

Leaving KWI in style?. Well, we will see!.
