Long, long ways to walk here, stairs down, stairs up, till the domestic part of the terminal.
And busy it is, I tell you.
This ticket is secured via the Atlasjet website directly together with the return leg tomorrow. The fare this way for this flight is just 25.00 Euro´s.
OLCI works well, self printed once more and shows me again something special.
Another equipment change?.
There are much more rows here on the seat chart than the
scheduled A320 usually offers. But the complete rear cabin is blocked.
And Atlasjet is well known for leasing in and out airplanes.
By the time they have large HiFly machines on Hadj flights running and also, hear me, the AirBaltic 752. Yes, that´s what I´am certainly looking for!.
Lucky me, not that long to wait here at security and down for the groundfloor bus gates.
And when I switch on the cellphone I see an SMS notice from Atlasjet in turkish only. As far as turkish is not my standard language that´s also the very same with the guy at
the desk the other way around. He doesn´t speak english frequently but he insisted that everything is ok, no cancelled flight or things like this. For more informations I should leave the secured area again and ask at the counter. No, thank you, no way!. Not that I´ve noticed later that these message has nothing to do with today´s flight, no, it´s about tomorrow´s!.
And well, no time to visit a lounge here.
Gate 407 and bus boarding it is again for this machine.
Ok, it looks like no equipment change, but anyway not the everyday colours, isn´t it?

Strange place, under the wing, maybe?

This is TC-ATJ, no individual names with Atlasjet and it´s an A320. First in service with TACA from 09.12.2002, later joined the turkish register with Izmir Airlines and by now Atlasjet. 3 examples are in the fleet.
Leg no. 104 on type and new to the log.
There are no stories to show

Ok, I should go now before the plane goes!.
5.15 pm, ontime by "Atlasjet",  1.10 hours from the 3000 meters "Three-Five-Left".
Gusty wind, 18 degrees and clear sky here at the "İstanbul Atatürk Havalimanı".
Cockpit crew is from Turkey.
The "Kaptan" with a short and nice welcome at the runway entrance. It feels like he´s proud about the job!.
What comes again this way nice and detailed inflight.
A hearty thank you to fly on Atlasjet, his airline and our airline of choice today. And also my airline for recorded leg no. 1000. Well, this is a new company to the books, a new airport to visit ahead, nice crew and three seats for me in the last row window. Do I need more now?

Flightlevel is 31000 feet, no route info.
27A and the legroom is ok with the well used black oldfashioned thick leather seats.
It looks like the pax at the counter checked in for an A319 with the cabin well loaded till the last couple of rows and these are close to completely empty till some other pax decided to move.
The seatchart online belongs to an A321 so it seems.
And really nice views on the way for the turkish landscape

 photo TR13OCT062_zpsa41f4d6c.jpg
The cabin with an 80% load.
And it seems there are not that many non-turkish citizens on the way this afternoon

Cabin crew is all female and all middle aged.
One with the standard ok style,
one blonde, nice,
one black hair, nice
and one, just for the variety, red hair, ponytail, slim, large,
with some nice chat during boarding about the seats and the OLCI thing, yes, believe it or not, really nice!.

Touchdown at the 3000 meters runway "Two-Five" 6.40 pm,
short after schedule. Clear sky, 14 degrees, now that´s exactly what I´am looking for!.
And finally arrived at the "Erkilet Havalimanı Kayseri".
With an AirAsiaX A330 on taxi heading for another Hadj mission on behalf of Saudia

Or maybe simply borrowed from another plane

Ok, out in the public in a minute or so.
The nice lady at the infodesk, no this is not ZRH!, write me a paper with the acceptable taxi fares, close to the same what the hotel told me, too.
And so I´am prepared to negotiate with the taxistas.
Well, I´am suprised, nothing to negotiate really, the elder guy speaks not a bad english and told me a fare less than what I´ve expected.
Ok, on the way and imagine, me and the taxistas!. The taximeter is running and when we are at the hotel it shows more than what we agreed.
He persist with the agreed fare and don´t like to accept a tip, too. Turkish pride, well done. Finally we found a way!.
A nice welcome at the Bent Hotel, everything is prepared for me, top floor suite, you know!
 photo TR13OCT083_zps0cb8755d.jpg
 photo TR13OCT084_zps69746ff4.jpg
And well, sometimes I see just a little bit more commercialization in the distance.
The hotel asked me for the permission to show my pictures on the website and also to use one for the Tripadvisor intro page. Well, the green light from me!.
It´s dark outdoor, but do not miss a view for the city, isn´t it?.
This is one of the less known places, at least for me. Kayseri is a city in the very center of Turkey, at an altitude of 1000 meters, at the feet of the close to 4000 meters extinct volcano Erciyes. Imagine some ten years ago the city shows 500000 inhabitants and nowadays there are more than a million people living here, much more than expected

 photo TR13OCT086_zpsd8151e9f.jpg
No way to shop anything here. The second one is much more to my liking

The "Bürüngüz Camii"

And much more to my surprise. It´s the end of October, Thursday evening, it´s clear and fresh outdoor and there are lot´s of people around
 photo TR13OCT092_zpse8eec835.jpg
 photo TR13OCT093_zps9b80cde1.jpg
And there is a lot of traffic, too

Ok, it seems I´am really in Turkey, the "Kale"
 photo TR13OCT098_zps66e6bc66.jpg
 photo TR13OCT099_zps09f81e63.jpg
And well, you know, it´s in the late evening. Where in Germany a bakery usually open till 10.00 pm is sometimes and that happens not that rarely, close to sold out at 8.00 pm. I´am not sure if I should call it a bakery. This one offers a thousand of fresh different bread rolls. I should spend the night here!. Well, after my predicted move to England and later on France, it seems Turkey is next!
 photo TR13OCT100_zps0206462e.jpg
 photo TR13OCT101_zps836f0885.jpg
And it looks like also nice from this point of view

Should I better take a "Taksi" right now?.

And also the bikes are perfectly up to date!

But well, also this time there is a flight to catch tomorrow
morning like this one:

 photo TR13OCT160_zps145bc2c0.jpg

Sorry, my mistake, this one:

 photo TR13OCT148_zpsa1181a37.jpg

And as long as I´am lucky with the right side of the plane and the clear blue sky above Cappadocia, it looks somewhat like this:

 photo TR13OCT163_zps70fab59d.jpg

And I should really, yes I should, catch a couple of minutes to sleep in between.

Here are the conclusions:
1.)Turkish Airlines STR-IST: For sure a pleasure to fly TK this way.
2.)Atlasjet IST-ASR: A nice early evening managed and also mission 1000 successfully completed this way.

Allaha ısmarladık!,
take care.
